Last updated: March 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Skills Trace, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using Skills Trace on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Service Description

Skills Trace provides runtime observability for AI agent capabilities. The service includes a detection engine that identifies skill usage in LLM request payloads, telemetry emitters for structured event collection, and a web dashboard for analytics and monitoring.

The open-source core library (@skills-trace/core) and gateway adapters are provided under their respective open-source licenses. The managed web dashboard and enterprise features are subject to these terms.

User Obligations

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating an account or configuring the service
  • Maintain the security of your API keys and authentication credentials
  • Use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or tenant isolation mechanisms
  • Not use the service to process, store, or transmit malicious content

Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to your telemetry data and fingerprint registries. Skills Trace retains all rights to the service, its design, documentation, and proprietary components. The open-source components are governed by their respective licenses.

Data Handling

Skills Trace processes only skill identity metadata — it does not read, store, or log prompt content. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The detection engine runs within your infrastructure and is not dependent on Skills Trace servers for real-time operation. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated in advance.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skills Trace shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the service.

Termination

You may stop using Skills Trace at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your telemetry data will be retained according to our standard retention policy unless you request earlier deletion.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the service. Continued use of Skills Trace after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
